GDPR Compliance

EDAC have our own Privacy Policy that covers GDPR Compliance and will conform to the trust GDPR Guidelines. Our Employees are subject to our own internal confidentiality agreement and we are willing to sign trust agreements with the trust and or the individual school where required. Our engineers are trained to monitor, assess and report on current infrastructure employed within the schools, to the ICT Coordinator, Business Manager or Trust Manager. Our proactive approach to support helps elevate potential issues before they can occur. Key element’s to this approach is a full network infrastructure assessment and maintenance of the Asset Register. This enables us to highlight and advise where future investment need to be targeted e.g. making sure the schools are Windows 10 compliant before Microsoft withdraws support for Windows 7 in Jan 2020. As a company that specialises in Education Support, our engineers have a wealth of experience covering the varied good and bad infrastructures employed in schools in the

North West of England. Whilst no two schools are the same, our experience in one school often provides the solution for many other schools. We often work with or recommend external companies to provide a solution that works from one school to another. Whilst working for the Warrington Primary Academy Trust we have developed a close relationship providing SIMS support with Pennine Education Ltd across the trust primary schools. With contacts across many sectors including Electricians, Data Cabling Companies, Phone System Specialists, Integrated Solutions and even Energy Saving Companies we are often able to facilitate many aspects of a project reducing workload for school staff. As an example, we are currently managing a project to provide a private SD-WAN network to a group of seven schools. In discussions with various Head Teachers who are also active Ofsted inspectors, we developed and implemented an extremely cost effective secure Internet solution we call EDACSure. With the increasing rise of mobile technology, tablets and extensive use of BYOD a need was identified to be able to easily identify the end user of a device in the event of an e-safety incident or breach. Many of the filtering systems, whilst very effective, can only provide the IP address and date and time for the offending device, not who was actually using it. EDACSure is a subscription free Captive Portal system that records individual users on the Internet providing username, IP address and date and time which can then be effectively married to the central filtering records to provide a full picture. This solution is available to all our support customers for the one off cost of the hardware itself. We are also able to offer an extremely cost effective cloud backup service with comprehensive restore tools and a 60 day retention period of data.
